Yes - this is what I get:
Polygon -
Sparsemodule 0.4 -
PyGPC -
TextFormatter -
Python Developing Den version3 -
Crystal Space 0.14 -
Reptile Web Server -
Gimini -
pyproxy -
tkCoLa 1.0 beta -
swapextensions.py -
Webware for Python 0.7 -
PorterStemmer -
Sparsemodule 0.5 -
Crystal Space 0.14 -
TextFormatter -
Python Guide Brain -
omniORBpy -
Aspy 0.7.1 -
Nested Lexical Scoping Enhancement -
Zsupervisor -
kjbuckets -
Fftw-numpy -
mxCrypto 0.1.1 -

Nothing there relates to "ping" as I understand it. I did, in the process,
discover WebWare which sounds interesting; now I'm stuck in a loop of how
the heck do I get a downloadable WebWare binary for windows from the CVS
repository. But that's another issue....

I searched for fping and got no hits.
