XP Denver's next monthly meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 28th
at
the Qwest Auditorium in Downtown Denver. Doors open at 6:00pm for
networking
and refreshments. We have the privilege of hosting guest speaker Robert
C.
Martin, President and Founder of Object Mentor.

Robert C. Martin and his team of Object Mentors use Object-Oriented
Design,
Patterns, UML, Agile Methodologies, and eXtreme Programming with
worldwide
clients. He is the author of the best-selling "Designing Object-Oriented
C++
Applications Using the Booch Method" (Prentice Hall, 1995), Chief Editor
of
"Pattern Languages of Program Design 3" (Addison Wesley, 1997), Editor
of
"More C++ Gems" (Cambridge, 1999), and co-author of "XP in Practice"
with
James Newkirk (Addison-Wesley, 2001). He was Editor in Chief of the C++
Report from 1996 to 1999. Martin is a featured speaker at international
conferences and trade shows.

Known to many XPers as Uncle Bob, Martin's talk will draw from his new
book:
"Principles, Patterns, and Practices of Agile Software Development".
This
book brings together the three major software advances of the 1990s:
design
principles, design patterns, and agile practices. This comprehensive,
pragmatic discussion will interest software developers and project
managers
with insights on how to get projects done on time, and on budget using
the
power of Agile Development. Martin draws from his 30+ years of
experience to
solve the most challenging problems facing software developers, project
managers, and software project leaders today.
