Meeting Summaries:
1. Resource Agent API=20
Pretty much just went through the document line-by-line. A=20
lot of going back-and-forth on several items. In the end
everybody feels this spec is good for RFC. Lars will put=20
the new version of the Resource Agent Spec into the CVS
in a few days. You can see all the changes from CVS log. =20
Areas of intense debate including:
*) resource name, should it be part of the command line.
*) monitor action, should it be replaced by a quick-check
and deep-check.=20
*) the return codes for monitor, should it be overloaded.=20
2. Business Advantages of the OCF Specs
Discussed the list of Business Advantages of OCF to satisfy
the FSG. Here's the summary of the list.=20
*) To Cluster SW Vendors, the OCF specs will give them better
interoperability. Compact solutions can be built without
writing anything.=20
*) To Distros, the OCF specs can offer a richer variety of=20
solutions to their customers. Also easier to support.=20
*) To Users, the OCF specs will give them less vendor lock-in,
wider variety of solutions. The cluster will be more=20
commodities, enhances the competition.=20
*) To Linux community and LSB, OCF specs give Linux an edge
to become a better clustering environment.=20
*) To Third Party Vendors, OCF specs enables them to support
a wider range of applications, simplifies the support=20
operation.
*) To Cluster HW Vendors, OCF specs allows them to offer
more options to the users.=20
Issue:
Ram will not be able to contribute to Event and Membership API.=20
