Hello Elliot,=20
i will give you some answers by your questions
> So, my questions:
1. Is anyone running a system using a shared SCSI bus?
Principally this is not recommended with two exceptions.
=46or testing or in combination with GDT-Cluster-controllers.
1a. What SCSI adapter are you using in the nodes?
=46or testing use two of the same Type, or even GDT-Clustercontrollers.
1b. What other hardware are you using with regard to the shared disk?
By using SCSI i recommend a RAID-Array with built-in Controller.
It's relibale and the cheapest Thing you can use is a IDE2SCSI-Array e.g. l=

from IFT. By this constellation the servers need only a standard externela=

SCSI-controller-port.
The best way is using a Fibre-Channel-Array. By two nodes you can use=20
Cross-links, it saves the expansive switch. Or by using a switch you can us=

more nodes, e.g. for a N:1 Cluster
1c. What Linux distribution are you running?
We used Redhat 7.x until now. Packeges for Debian a near immpossible to bui=
ld
in cause of some strange libary-dependencies.
2. What are the minimum hardware requirements for sharing a SCSI disk?
Two controller of the same Typ, two Cables and an externel Disk.
You have to change the ID of one of the Controllers.
I use this for Tests or Demos.
2a. I assume it is: 2 SCSI adapters, cables, shared SCSI bus, SCSI disk, am
I wrong? No
2b. How am I wrong?
Ask if you thinking this.
Greetings=20
Robert
