Hi,
I worked intensively with commercial clustering solutions, like Veritas,=
and at present I would like to try a linux - based cluster.
After installing the following set of rpms on one of my linux boxes (SuSE=
8.0)
failsafe-1.0.4.SuSE1-0.i386.rpm
failsafe-cluster_admin-1.0.4.SuSE1-0.i386.rpm
failsafe-cluster_services-1.0.4.SuSE1-0.i386.rpm
failsafe-devel-1.0.4.SuSE1-0.i386.rpm
failsafe_books-1.0.1_CVS20010406-0.i386.rpm
failsafe_mgr-CVS20010509-5.i386.rpm
fam-2.6.4-70.i386.rpmsysadm_base-client-1.3.7-1.i386.rpm
and
sysadm_base-dev-1.3.7-1.i386.rpm
sysadm_base-lib-1.3.7-1.i386.rpm
sysadm_base-mkrhinoism-1.3.7-1.i386.rpm
sysadm_base-server-1.3.7-1.i386.rpm
sysadm_base-tcpmux-1.3.7-1.i386.rpm
I tried to start the GUI /usr/bin/fstask, for a first time cluster setup.=
The mask asks me for server name (local hostname, "mypc") and the usernam=
e
(root) ... but after the OK button it complains about an unsuccessful log=
in,
without asking me for a password. On the
log file I set up editing /var/lib/sysadm/sysadm.conf I read
INFO mypc.local sysadmd[1167]: sysadmd started.
ERROR mypc.local authScheme/unix[1167]: sysadmd login request for root fa=
iled.
INFO mypc.local conn[1167]: Lost connection.
FailSafe services are started automatically at boot time, inetd is runnin=
g
and the system is listening on port tcpmux
I would appreciate every help about this ... I would like to start as soo=
n
as possible with the cluster configuration!
