[LinuxFailSafe] Linux clustering software - Where is failsafe

Hello all,
I have a general question about failsafe and it's future position compared to other linux HA-clustering SW like e.g. heartbeat...
When I look at the failsafe sources and documentation the last changes were done 2 years ago.
There are some rpm's for e.g. SuSE Linux 7.0 but in the current major distributions e.g. SuSE 8.1 heartbeat is included, but failsafe is not.
So I wonder if there is any ongoing development. Is Linux failsafe already stable and there is no development needed, or is it not used anymore.
Would it be a good idea to choose failsafe for a two node HA-cluster system that shall be deployed over a long time or are there any better solutions (e.g. heartbeat?) w.r.t. acceptance/existence of the HA-solution now and in future
Thanks,
Thomas
