Hello,

we have already installed Failsafe in many different
configuratins and these are our experinces.

With a singel initiatore bus system, you should
use the 'cluster enabled' ICP Controllers, these
work also fine with the IBM RAID.
But you need special software and adapted failsafe
mount-scripts! (we have)

The other variation is to use an autarchic Raid-Arry.
A fine solution is offered by Compaq, the CL380 (we also used)
or the new DL380 Packeged Cluster.
Or a nice third party device are the IFT-RAIDs.
The have systems with 2 host channels in SCSI and,
and this interessting if you have a smaller budget, also in IDE!
In Germany they are availible at starline.de,=20
ask Mr. a.freisen@starline.de, he is well known in Cluster systems.

And last but not least a FibreChannel system is all times the finest,
and believe it or not, IFT deliveres also IDE-2-FIBRE systems!

I hope i could help you.

By

Robert
