Hello All.
Since I am interrested in the use and development of FailSafe, I downloaded the
binaries, and went away. After reading the FS_Admin_Guide.pdf I tried some of
it.
I now installed the 0.8 version on 3 machines. 1 is a SuSE 6.2, the others 6.4,
with kernel 2.2.16.
When I start defining nodes, I get the following error.
| <E anonymous log 16765:0 ci_log_cdb.c:210>
| CI_CONFERR_NOTFOUND, Logging configuration error: could not read cluster
| database /var/lib/failsafe/cdb/cdb.db, cdb error = 3. Could not open database
| /var/lib/failsafe/cdb/cdb.db
|
| Failed to define node
|
| define command failed
I went looking for a solution. Then I noticed that on all 3 of them, the cdbd
deamon won't start. Not initially, not at /sbin/init.d/fs_cluster restart, or
start/stop, and also not at the suggested ./cdbreinit
/var/lib/failsafe/cdb/cdb.db
I then looked up the code calling the cdbd deamon in /sbin/init.d/fs_cluster,
and tried that manually, getting this error, after wich the console does not
return, waiting for input. ctrl-c brings it back:
| europa:~ # /usr/lib/failsafe/bin/cdbd /var/lib/failsafe/cdb/cdb.db \#
| europa:~ # Error: fs2d initialization failed
If I invoke the command without the \, the command seems to succeed, but there
is no process running with that name anywhere.
I have seen the fs2d call being mentioned in the manual, if you invoke the
./cdbreinit. Those texts are not appearing here.
Does one have any ideas what might cause this?
I can supply some more info, or make some strace calls to see what
happens.
Any help/questions are appreciated.
