No backport available for etch.
since it is not essential for operation, wouldn't it be better so rewrite the
source code to check if gv.py is available on the system. If not, just disable
the additional functions and do not include gv.py?
I think this would be the cleanest way out since debian etch ist very common
and a lot of people will continue to use it for a long time.
