[Linux-HA] Missing generic.so

Have rebuilt the Heartbeat from Source - configured it, and when I try to
start i get this:

[root at ydog1 lib]# /etc/init.d/heartbeat start
Starting High-Availability services:
[FAILED]
heartbeat: 2005/03/08_15:51:11 ERROR: ERROR: cannot load generic interface
manager plugin [InterfaceMgr/generic]: No such plugin/interface/interface
type
heartbeat: 2005/03/08_15:51:11 ERROR: Heartbeat not started: module init
error.

After reading the Mail threads - i see that it is looking for a generic.so -
but unfortunately - it seems that this is not built.

[root at ydog2 heartbeat-1.2.3]# ll /lib64/pils/plugins/InterfaceMgr/
total 220
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 94897 Mar 8 15:38 generic
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 114240 Mar 8 15:38 generic.a
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 808 Mar 8 15:38 generic.la

Any clues on what triggers this?

What i am building with currently: ./configure --prefix /usr --sysconfdir
/etc --localstatedir /var --libdir /lib64

Thanks for any help!
