Now this is interesting. I have a couple of those but I couldn't get them
to become a null modem by a commercial cable or my DIY flat ribbon one.

A caveat re usbnet - I just bought a host-to-host cable (Digitus brand,
from Reichelt, Germany). The normal "USB Link Cable" has a GL620 chip which
is currently not supported. I have yet to find out if their "USB2 Link
Cable" has the GL620-A and should work.
