IMHO USB host-to-host allows only IP, or am I wrong? At least I would
not know how to configure this. IP over USB is no problem. Linux seems
to use usbnet for IP:
dmesg:
usb0: register usbnet at usb-0000:00:10.1-1, Prolific PL-2301/PL-2302
via1:~# lsusb

USB-USB Bridge
Using two USB-to-serial with a serial crossover cable between should
work. They work with most serial devices. I use these cheap ones coming
under the trademark "Ednet" and have prolific chipsets
