[Linux-HA] heartbeat 1.2.3 / linux 2.6.10 / ping-ipfail problem

I appreciate any help, but I'm not sure what you mean.
I can log into either machine and ping x.y.126.1 just fine. As you may
have guessed, its both of their default route. And there are no network
devices other than switches separating all 3 machines. Part of why I
posted is that heartbeat/ipfail doesn't seem to realize this.
Based on an earlier suggestion, I have installed heartbeat-1.99.2, and
have been having much better luck with this and similar configurations on
some other machines (all linux 2.6.10, all have similar problems with
ipfail under 1.2.3).
