you are absolutely right. "reset" works fine, if the system power is on.
The problem is that the mpcli "reset" command fails (but it reports
"success") if the system power is off due to what ever reason.
I explicitly switch the power off (which will do nothing if the power is
already off (but report "success") and immediateley after that switch
the power on again. Under RedHat 8 that boots the system, no matter if
it was running or not before stonith decided to react. With RedHat 9 the
"setpowerontime -now" command fails with some strange java errors. It
would be possible to use the "reset" command, but the "setpowerontime"
command definitely has a bug and there might be situations where stonith
would fail when using "reset".
