Heartbeat info for a newbie

Hey how is it going.

I have to say Heartbeat is kinda cool. Well I believe i have it working
with 2 nodes. Each node having 1 ethernet card. But my question is can
this be done with heartbeat package only..or do i need something else for
it.

This is my network. I will try to be simple as possible. I have 2
servers, each having 2 network cards in them. Each has one ethernet and
one token ring card. The token ring cards connect to a different network,
and ethernet cards to a different internal network.

Lets name and describe the system - node A with ethernet A and tokenring A
cards

node B with ethernet B and tokenring B.

ethernet is internal network and tokenring is external network.

Lets make tokenring A and tokenring B to fall over ips. for virtual ip C.

and now I want ethernent A and ethernet B to fall over ip for virtual ip
D.

So if tokenring A dies, it should swtich to tokenring B immediately (i
think that can be done) and still keep virtual ip C. But what about
ethernet A, B and virtual ethernet ip D. Suppose Node 1 is primary and
its tokenring A dies..so it would swtich to tokenring B on Node 2 right.
What about ethernet cards.

I want if tokenring A dies, it should fall back into tokenring B, and the
ethernet card in node A should be up if needed or die automtically or just
go to ethernet B automatically.

How can I do that. The bottom line is each box is conected to a different
server having virtual ips. So if one card dies down, i want to immedially
fail over seaminglessly.

If no one understands on what I am talking about. I will try to explain
in a better way.

Could someone tell me on how to do it properly.

Thanks

take care
