September greetings!
Momentum rolls on this fall after our outreach in July and August (showings
of SiCKO and New West Fest crowds in Fort Collins) gathered more people into
the movement for health care reform.
Worthy of note are the following September events. Come and bring your
friends to one of these programs! Learn more about the campaign for single
payer financing and how you can bring affordable, quality health care for
all to Colorado.
We're grateful for your interest, support and participation!

Wednesday, September 26 "Corporate Profit and Greed: How Health Care in
America is Killing the Economy"
Harmony Library Community Room, Fort Collins 7-9 p.m.
HCAC sponsored community education program.
Skyrocketing premiums for both employers and individuals, a growing numbers
of uninsured and under-insured, consolidation of health insurance plans and
hospitals and Medicaid costs accounting for one-fifth of the state budget
are but four facts in the growing disease of our economy due to our health
care system.
What is the cure? Come hear how health care for all can not only improve
your family's health care and save you money, but restore America's
financial future. Presented by Dr. Glenn Pearson, Psychiatry Section Chief
at Mountain Crest Hospital, Fort Collins and past National President of
Physicians for a National Health Program.
Friday, September 28 Public Vigil at the W. Capitol Steps, Denver
7:00-9:00 p.m.
Join with supporters of health care reform to celebrate the lives of those
who have died or been further injured because of lack of health care.

Saturday, September 29 Forum on Health Care Reform in Colorado 9a.m.-noon
CSU Lory Student Center, N. Ballroom
Sponsored by the CSU Center for Public Deliberation (CPD) and the League of
Women Voters of Larimer County. Participants in the forum, aided by
facilitators from the CPD, will have structured conversations in breakout
groups to consider some of the primary distinctions in health reform
proposals and work through the tough choices inherent to those reforms. In
particular, participants will consider the primary values underlying health
care reform, and the responsibilities of individuals, employers, and the
government in reform. The discussion will also connect to the current
proposals under consideration by the state's Blue Ribbon Commission on
Health Care Reform ( "208 Commission" )
http://www.colorado.gov/208commission.
The aim is to help prepare citizens to provide feedback to their state
legislators and the 208 Commission at their upcoming public hearing in Fort
Collins on October 12. Information captured at the September 29th forum by
CPD note takers will be summarized in a report that will be posted online
and provided to the 208 Commission and state legislators, who will be
considering the 208 Commission proposals during the spring session. For more
information, contact Martín Carcasson, Director, CPD, at
