Last week I made a special effort and got removable devices working
under kernel 2.6.3 (thank you for commendable patience from Jens Axboe).
The secret is not to mess with req->flags, and use req->special for
anything local.
I haven't dared try more than two floppy inserts and removals yet,
however, so the really daring can tell me what's still wrong. I scare
easy. Since "one" was much more than I had been able to do before, I
was very satisfied.
I put the archive up on thursday but an electricity outage here has
meant that nobody has been able to get hold of the update untiltoday.
