Ok, I narrowed it down to enbd-server.c and shmem.c:

If I use the "old" versions for both (all other files are the current
versions) it works, so it must be one of these two!

I cannot easily test which of these, since the old shmem.c does not
compile with the new enbd-server.c and vice versa.
