Well, it does what you want, which in my view is excessive :-). I would
have preferred just wiping out the signature, and maybe the size and
buffer info, as well as resetting the counters.

There are some race conditions leading up to the destroy, btw.
And a bit of a memleak under some circumstances. But nothing serious.
If you post that routine you added here, I'll make it a bit more
robust.
